Who We Are
The Global Institute of Digital Assets, Financial Security, and Public Governance (GIDAFS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to research, education, and analysis in finance, law, and digital technology.
The Institute’s scope spans the banking and nonbank financial sectors, the digital asset industry, and public-private partnerships. Its purpose is to contribute knowledge that supports more transparent financial systems, effective regulation, and responsible institutional decision-making.
Our Mission
Our mission is to promote financial transparency, improve the effectiveness of regulatory systems, and strengthen the stability of financial markets through interdisciplinary research, education, and recommendations for public policy and legislative improvement.
We place particular emphasis on financial security, the prevention of financial crime, and the governance of technologies that increasingly influence financial decisions.
Our Strategic Priorities
Strengthen financial regulation, prudential supervision, and risk management through evidence-based approaches.
Improve financial reporting, internal controls, and professional standards.
Address weaknesses in financial monitoring and reduce unjustified restrictions on legitimate transactions.
Develop approaches to responsible AI, digital assets, and financial innovation.
Support financial stability, sustainable development, and accountable public financial management.
What We Do
Our mission encompasses fundamental and applied research, analytical reports, expert assessments, educational initiatives, and professional dialogue. These forms of work provide a basis for examining policy options and translating research into professional knowledge.
The Institute’s mandate also includes the development of professional standards and certification frameworks, comparative regulatory analysis, and proposals for improvements to legislation and public policy.
Who Our Work Serves
Our intended audiences include researchers, educators, financial professionals, regulators, public authorities, and professional associations. We also seek to make financial and regulatory issues more understandable to people interested in how institutions use technology and manage risk.
The public benefit we seek is greater trust in financial institutions, stronger accountability, and fewer opportunities for financial crime and abuse.
Our International Perspective
GIDAFS has an international research orientation with a particular interest in the needs of the U.S. economy and financial system. Its mission includes assessing international experience for relevance to the United States and supporting knowledge exchange with economies in transition.
Comparative analysis must account for differences in legal systems, institutional responsibilities, and market conditions. These differences are central to our approach to regulatory adaptation.
Our Principles
Transparency, independence, integrity, and accountability guide the Institute’s mission and governance. Its nonprofit framework directs resources toward its scientific, educational, and public-benefit purposes.
GIDAFS is committed to nondiscrimination and to addressing conflicts of interest in institutional decisions. Its expert and policy role is research-based and educational; the Institute does not offer individual legal, investment, or audit services requiring professional licensure.
